Textile Industry
We all have our favorite article of clothing but have you
ever wonder how this piece of cloth comes from? Textile industry plays vital
role in world’s economy. Textile industry has generated huge employment for
skilled and unskilled labours. Almost every country is engaged in manufacturing
textile products. Undoubtedly, textile industry is unmatched in industrial
world. It is based on conversion of fiber into yarn, yarn into fabric. The raw
material either the natural, or man made fabric like synthetic made by
production of chemical industry. The related word cloth and fabric often used
for textile trades as a synonyms of textile. The textile industry has two
segments: one is unorganized sector consist of hand loom, handicraft and so on.
That are operated on small scale by traditional values, tools and methods. On
the other hand, the second organized sector consist of apparels, garment
segments which use modern machinery and techniques such as digital textile printing services.
Textile good may be subdivided into three group according to
their nature. These goods are produced by different manufacturing process.
1. Textile
and textile products: Textile and textile products cover a wide range of
goods. It can be divided into three production process namely spinning, weaving
and manufacturing piece of goods.
2. Apparel Goods: apparel goods may consider as the
extension of textile goods.
3. Products for
different use: Raw
material can be used for direct consumption of people for different purpose
like fabric textile printing solutions.
Have you ever look around your home at all of the products
that contain some shot of fabrics? You may notice furniture, blanket, carpet,
curtains, and cushions. Fabric is a part of our daily life and it would not
possible to fulfill our needs and not get what we want without it. Textile
industry is responsible to collect raw material for finished products or digital fabric printing.
Textile industry utilizes different types of fabric for
various purposes. But it can be break down into two main categories, Natural
and synthetic. Natural fabric are generally produced naturally from things
animal (sheep, silkworms), natural fibers like (cotton, flax). While synthetic
fabrics are created in lab and are man-made. Rayon, polyester and nylon are the
best example of synthetic fabric.
With the addition of new technology, factories began to
specialize in creating fabric. These machines for instance could make fabric
much faster than by hand and also cost less money. Many other services are
become faster just because of latest technology like digital fabric printers in textile industry. Invention and industrial revolution has
made drastic changes in textile industry.
Sustainable textile is also very important as people are
becoming more concerned about preserving the world and nature for their future
generation. Sustainable textile means ideas of reuse, reduce and recycle, encouraging
individual and business to reduce their consumptions of recourses like water,
land and oil; reusing products and recycling materials like glass. Developing
ways to create manufacturing processes that are more energy efficient and nontoxic.
Sometimes it is also called as eco-textile that address human impact on environment
and ensure more social responsibility in their growth and to save environment.
Even today, perhaps textile industry is most widespread
industry throughout the world. As far as capital involvement and labour
participation is concerned, no one can compare textile industry with other
industrial world.
